the studio: workshops: boutis class
Boutis Class: learn the classic methods of the Boutis of Provence.
Learn the traditional techniques along with the history and symbols of this timeless French art form. Taught by Patricia Macindoe
Patricia is accredited by Francine Nicolle, Director of La Maison du Boutis at Calvisson, near Nimes.
WHOLE DAY 10.00am – 4.00pm: The morning is given to instruction in technique; the afternoons are for personal project work. Beginners will be directed in the first two small projects and will choose projects after these are completed. From time to time very small projects are introduced as a means of skilling in technique and traditional practice and these run together with personal projects.
£35 per session - includes lunch
1/2 DAY GET-TOGETHER 1 - 4pm: A relaxed time, no formal teaching but a great escape and an opportunity to ask advice, catch-up, transfer a pattern onto fabric using the light-box etc.
£10 per session – includes tea/coffee
Boutis supplies on sale at the STUDIO:
White Batiste fabric 54” wide £10 per metre
Boutis stuffing cotton £7 per ball
Starter kit £7 (includes Fat ¼ batiste, needles, ¼ ball stuffing cotton, templates & notes)
