the studio: workshops: weekly class
This is a weekly 2 hour session.
Choose either Monday evening class 7 – 9 (the Studio will be open from 6.30 until 9.30 pm)
or Wednesday morning class 10 – 12 (the Studio will be open between 9.30 – 1.00)
Both the Monday evening and Wednesday morning classes are suitable for beginners; you can start whenever you are ready. Each class is made up of beginners and those will a little more experience.
When you start as a beginner you will be taken through a specially designed 12 week step by step course.
During the first four weeks you will learn to use a rotary cutter and be shown hand and machine methods for patchwork and learn how to add a simple border, the result - a patchwork cushion.
During the second four weeks you will learn how to make and use triangles in patchwork and learn layering and quilting skills. You’ill finish a small wallhanging or cushion.
The next four weeks we’ll add in some log cabin techniques while making a lap quilt.
Then when you’ve got the bug – we’ll help you start and make your own project. With advice on fabric choices, quantities, construction techniques, quilting design and finishing ideas.
